The Cretan Youth Symphony Orchestra plays the Beatles

Dedicated to the Beatles, this concert entitled “The Beatles in their symphonic dimension”, was given by the Cretan Youth Symphony Orchestra, Municipality of Heraklion.

The orchestra meets the Beatles in a concert dedicated to the legendary band on Sunday, September 23, at the “Nikos Kazantzakis” Garden Theatre. Performed by: Aris Plaskasovitis, Steve Kokkas, Phaidon Farid, Apostolis Psychramis. With The Youth Choir of the Municipality of Heraklion.

Without Voices: Nikos Platyrachos at the Athens Concert Hall

ERT National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Anastasios Symeonidis with the composer playing piano, introduced the concert “Without Voices” on Monday, December 11 at 20:30 in the Christos Lambrakis Hall. The program comprised of symphonic plays by Nikos Platyrachos. The concert was part of the Musical Portraits, the new round of happenings by Megaron. This initiative invests in highlighting the diversity of contemporary Greek creation through dedicated happenings to established composers and song-writers of our country.

The concert started with The Autumn Initiation – symphonic piece the character of which is eloquently captured by its title – which marks the beginning of a special journey into a world of varied stimuli. This journey carries on Without Voices in the following symphonic compositions by N. Platyrachos: Kryptolambes is an orchestral mesh of favorite melodies from Greek music, the Orchestral Suite “Maria Iliou” is based on music from the collaboration of the composer with the director, September mainly consists of Platyrachos’ music themes for European movies.
